Party. Cakes. Gifts. Balloons. Finding a unique way to surprise a friend? If you prepare the same stuff each year, I guess your friend will be expecting the same thing, the same routine, and the same number of candles to blow. Well, there are actually some surprising surprises that can take your friend by surprise on her special day.
FILL THIS DAY WITH HER FAVORITE COLOR! For girls, a thing that has a touch of their favorite color undoubtedly attracts them. Once you take off the blindfold, you will surely see the stars in their eyes.

MAKE EVERY HOUR SPECIAL. Surprising her once is overwhelming but it is more touching to prepare different events every hour. There is always a break time at work or at school. So, try to do something astounding with those numbers on the clock. You can greet her at eight, put your first small gift on her table at nine, give her a massage at ten, satisfy her sweet tooth at eleven, and the rest is up to you. You don’t need to do everything alone. How many people are there in your classroom or at your workplace? Use them! They will not hesitate.

BE A SUPER-FAIRY. Every person lives for their dream. And you, as a friend, are there to grant her wishes. Does she want to be a singer or a dancer? Does she crave for chicken? Is she longing for a peaceful day? Well, don’t you think you can be a fairy? Of course, you can. That is what we call “casting the magic of friendship.” But, of course, magic has limitations. If she wishes to meet her dream guy, tap her shoulders and tell her "there’s nothing you can do about it."

KNOW HER LANGUAGE OF LOVE. Some people feel loved when they receive gifts; when people hug and kiss them; when they hear praises and good words; when other people do their tasks instead of them, and so on. Knowing their language of love is probably the most remarkable thing. Start looking for it now!

SHOWER HER WITH YOUR WISHES. Letters are old stuff. But, admit it, they still trigger those tears once you take a glance of their eloquent messages. Don’t you worry; doing an old thing will never harm your modern life. Remember, your job is to move the celebrator.

DON’T FORGET THE CANDLE. Blowing a candle is a birthday tradition that you shouldn’t miss. But, you can always make a twist. I actually got the idea from my students. They call it the “military cake.” Since there is no cake shop at the military camp, there is always a solution for everything—CUPCAKES! Buy a bunch of mini-cakes and transform them into a birthday cake! Don’t forget that your goal is to make her wishes come true. And you can’t do that perfectly without those little candles.

These are just some of the tried-and-tested birthday surprises that can utterly touch a friend. You can always create your own unique ways. You don’t need to buy her a gift or spend much money. All you have to do is to make the most out of it by turning her day as dazzling as diamonds.
By the way, these work well for women of all ages. I will find ways to surprise a man, too. Wait for it!...
