Everything here is organic and freshly made by the magic hands of a Japanese owner, Maccha Okada, who speaks Ilocano fluently—you don’t need to bleed from speaking in English.
It is located across the public market going to Pico, Km 5, La Trinidad, Benguet. It is on the third floor, Rm. 5 of JC Building. Kape Bantay (Coffee Mountain) is purposely built on top for us to view the sunset while having a cup of coffee.
Though
the place is not that cozy, you will absolutely enjoy a peaceful chat and an unending
food-trip with your friends. As your eyes go around the room, you will be
overwhelmed with healthy stuff such as healthy food and drinks, books and
magazines for the kitchen, cosmetics made from herbs, biodegradable bags, tablecloth
from different provinces of Cordillera, fertilizers, farm products etc.
The
thing that is really stunning about this place is the cost. Though the
ingredients are obviously expensive at the market, the prices of the meals and
drinks are really affordable. The owner wanted to keep the prices low; that’s
one reason why she has no assistants.
So,
if you crave for affordable organic products especially the aroma of coffee and tea from La
Trinidad and Japan, Kape Bantay is waiting for you.
Yakisoba is highly recommended here, sadly, we still haven't tasted it. But,here are a few of the menu we have tried and will try more:
Yakisoba is highly recommended here, sadly, we still haven't tasted it. But,here are a few of the menu we have tried and will try more:
Organic Chao Fan (50.00) |
Pati with basil and green cheese (25.00) |
'Green Smoothie' guess the ingredients as you sip it (does it have green banana?) |
vegetable pizza with cheese 80.00 |
Fruit and Vegetable Yogurt Mousse (25.00)
ten Thumbs up for this.
